What you can do

Change only happens when community members become involved. Whether you're a local resident who wants to have a say on the link, or an individual who wishes to lobby for sustainable urban transport in general, your comment is important.

On 25 July 2003 it was announced that four options had been identified, all of which will mostly be in tunnel. The closing date for public comment was Friday 3 October 2003.

On 6 May 2004 it was announced that the preferred corridor is the Type A Purple option.

There are various avenues through which you can submit comment:

  • Sinclair Knight Merz, the consultants for the feasibility study, invite community comment on their website or you can contact Jo Moss, who is the community liaison officer for the study at f3tosydneyorbital@skm.com.au.
  • Write to your local councillors voicing any concerns. Their role is to represent the interests of residents and ratepayers in their ward and they have a particular care for issues that will affect local residents.
  • Write to or e-mail the Federal Minister for Transport and Regional Services, the Hon. John Anderson MP, whose department is funding the feasibility study.
  • Write to your local media. They welcome comment from local residents and often need material to fill the letters page.
