We are aware of very little research being carried out about Spanish Moss. One area we would like to know more about is its growth rates and how this varies with weather and the type of tree it is growing on.
Could you carry out some citizen science? Pick an example of an infestation near you and monitor how it changes over time by taking photos, say every 6 months.
Our local councils are monitoring Spanish Moss sightings that are put up on iNaturalist. Have you seen any action?
